Wheel-Throwing Level 2/3
Take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level in this intermediate course designed for students who are already comfortable with the fundamentals and ready to challenge themselves with more advanced forms and techniques.
Throughout the six weeks, you’ll work with larger balls of clay, build greater consistency and control, and explore more complex projects such as lidded forms, taller vessels, and larger functional pieces. You’ll continue refining your centering, pulling, shaping, trimming, and finishing skills while learning how to approach more ambitious forms with confidence.
With small group settings, you’ll receive personalized instruction and hands-on support as you work toward stronger technique, cleaner forms, and a better understanding of how to plan and execute more advanced pieces. This course is ideal for students who have completed introductory wheel-throwing courses and are ready to continue developing their practice.
As The Kiln Room continues to grow into our expanded space, we’re building clearer pathways for students who want to deepen their practice. Students interested in independent studio access will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of studio processes, safety, equipment, and clay practices before working independently. Eligibility will be assessed individually and includes an interview and studio orientation to make sure each person is ready to use the space confidently, safely, and independently.
