About HollyJo

Founder of The Kiln Room

HollyJo (she/they) is a Toronto born queer interdisciplinary artist who fell in love with clay during her undergrad at Ontario College of Art and Design, where she received her degree in Sculpture & Installation with a minor in Ceramic Art in 2020.

HollyJo finds solace in storytelling through object making and leaning into the wisdom of vulnerability, memory, lived experience and the joy of novelty, wonder and reflection.

Land Acknowledgement

At The Kiln Room Ceramic & Art Studio, we acknowledge that we create on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Neutral Peoples, covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant.

As artists working with clay—material that comes from the land itself—we recognize our responsibility to honor the Indigenous communities who have stewarded these lands for generations. Reconciliation is an ongoing process, and we are committed to listening, learning, and taking meaningful action to support Indigenous voices, artists, and communities.

We strive to make our studio a place of respect, reflection, and positive change.
